Helping DC Drivers Save Money at the Pump

| More

Did you know there's a 54-cent-per-gallon tariff on imported ethanol that makes your gas more expensive?

To draw attention to this hidden tax on American drivers and help make summer vacation a little more affordable, the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association will offer Washington-area drivers a discount of $0.54-per-gallon off the price of gasoline at two Capitol Hill stations.  In honor of Memorial Day, we’ll double the discount for military personnel who can show a military ID.

Where

Capitol Hill Exxon

339 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE

Washington, DC 20003

Congressional Exxon

200 Massachusetts Avenue, NE

Washington, DC 20002

When

Tuesday, May 25th from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

We’re offering this cheaper gasoline as a sign of goodwill on the part of the Brazilian sugarcane ethanol industry and an indication of our desire to eliminate trade barriers on clean, renewable energy.  It’s also a symbolic gesture demonstrating how Americans across the country will save money at the pump if Congress ends the unfair tax on imported ethanol.

So come out to Capitol Hill next Tuesday, fill up with discounted gas and help us raise a little cane!  Above all, have a happy, affordable and safe Memorial Day vacation.

EPA has designated sugarcane ethanol as an “Advanced Renewable Fuel” – an important category of superior biofuels that will make up at least 15 billion gallons of America’s fuel supply by 2020
