Announcing the Winner of Our Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma Giveaway
Earlier this year, the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association renewed its partnership with the Indy Racing League for the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series season. Sugarcane ethanol – the sweeter alternative – fuels nearly all of the Indy races, including this weekend’s Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma.
To raise awareness about the benefits of sugarcane ethanol, a clean renewable fuel that could help Americans save money at the pump and cut dependence on Middle East oil, we announced a contest that would send a winner and one guest on a three-night, four-day getaway to California for the race to see cane ethanol in action on the track.
Today we are thrilled to announce our winner - Lindsay S. from Crown Point, Indiana! With over 30,000 entries, she beat incredible odds and we are very excited for her.
Lindsay is a graduate student at Valparaiso University where she is pursuing a Masters in English Studies and Communications. She also works in an English as a Second Language (ESL) program at an elementary school. When her busy schedule allows, Lindsay is an avid reader who loves movies, shopping and going green. We caught up with her for a quick Q&A, which you can read below.
Congratulations Lindsay! What was your reaction to winning?
I thought “how awesome!” Between school and work, I don’t have the opportunity to get away much, so I am really looking forward to this trip!
Are you an IndyCar fan?
This will actually be my first race, but I can’t wait – it sounds really exciting.
Have you ever been to California or Sonoma before?
I’ve been to Los Angeles several times including earlier this year, but have always wanted to visit wine country.
Have you picked a lucky guest yet?
Yes! I’m bringing my good friend, Jen, for a nice girls getaway.
Had you heard of sugarcane ethanol before?
Yes, I am really interested in the “going green” movement, so I knew that sugarcane ethanol was one of the best options for the environment.
